As the new Miss Carpet Capital, Lydia will represent this pageant in the Miss Georgia Pageant in June in Columbus, Georgia, which is apart of the Miss America Organization. In addition to winning the crown, Lydia was also the recipient of both the Talent award and the Interview award during the pageant.
The runners up in the Miss Carpet Capital Pageant were 1st Runner Up Abby Killough of Bainbridge, Georgia and 2nd Runner Up Lauren Wagner of LaGrange, Georgia, who also won the Swimsuit award. Congratulations to both Abby and Lauren, who are both very beautiful and talented young ladies.
Lydia's personal passion is education and her platform is Excellence in Education through Family Literacy. She works to enlist and train literacy volunteers using the Family Literacy Organization and to implement family literacy programs in local communities, i.e. churches, civic organizations, schools and libraries. After the pageant, Lydia attended a congratulatory celebration with the Board of the Miss Carpet Captial Pageant.
